The Hardscrabble Streets

Dear Constitutional Rights PAC Patriot,

I’ll make this brief and to the point.

Back in the day, when you grew up on Baltimore’s hardscrabble, inner-city streets, you learned to read – quick.

Oh no, not books…

People.

When you’re surrounded by hard-case guys in black leather jackets and others so slick they could con you out of your lunch money and bus fare to boot (on a daily basis), you learn to judge a book by its cover…

If you intend to make to tomorrow, let alone live long and prosper.

That’s why regular readers of Daily Update will recall that I didn’t like Little Mikey Johnson from the gitgo.

He was too unctuous… too ingratiating… and far too nebulous (word of warning: people who make it a habit of hiding in the background are usually hiding their true intentions as well).

And then when Mikey’s own adopted son refused to endorse, let alone celebrate, his rise to power… Well, if those who know you best trust you least, that probably ain’t a good sign, is it?

Let me put it this way, in my inner city, blue-collar Baltimore neighborhood (pictured above), Mikey might have been allowed on the sandlot ball team – but none of us would have trusted him anywhere near the equipment locker.

Period.

And now, that “Little Mikey Pelosi” has betrayed our trust at every turn, myriad eyes have been opened – wide.

One additional thought, if I may:

Mr. Johnson is not the only member of the Republican controlled House who has blatantly betrayed the American people.

On the street where I lived, Bill Johnson, Kevin McCarthy, Mike Gallagher, Chris Stewart, and Ken Buck all would have been tarred and feathered for stripping the GOP of a functional majority by cutting and running (i.e., resigning) just at the time when the American people needed them most to stay in the game.

And every GOP idiot who even thought of removing George Santos from office for lying would have been unceremoniously slapped back to his senses. After all, in politics today, lying is no longer a Scarlet Letter, it is a badge of honor. So knock off the nonsense and maintain the majority!

That’s it.

Have a great day. Please continue to “fight the good fight” – and “watch yer backside, hon” (as we used to say on the mean streets of old Baltimore)!
